Since the pandemic lockdowns, i am working, or rather dabbling, on novel writing. Back then I thought "if I don't have time now, when would I ever?" An astute observation. Back then, I managed to finish a fantasy novel manuscript, and have tinkered with it, surrounding short stories, and plans for a whole trilogy ever since.
No, I am not ranting about publishing today, thank you.
There have been ups and down ins my success of keeping a daily writing schedule, as academia life does draw from the same pool of "sit at your computer and write stuff". In the past, the National Novel Writing Month, NaNoWriMo, was a boost of structured motiviation, but to my suprise it went the way of Dodos and Dinosaurs since I checked last time.
Luckily, there is a successor, NaNo 2.0, which I'll try out instead. My goal for the month of November: 30K words of new prose, exposés and novel rewrites. Time to make the fingertips fly.
I'll report back at the end.
Stay epic!
